Alexander Light’s blog is a thing made out of words, pictures and digital stuffs.

It is not a thing specifically about Alexander Light. However, by virtue of acting as a receptacle for things Alexander Light regards as interesting or of value, it therefore must be a representative artifact of Alexander Light’s current interests or state of mind.

alexanderlight used to be a blog at http://alexanderlight.blogspot.com/ which is still there, should you feel the need to go deep.

(p.s. I’ve not started routinely talking about myself in the 3rd person, I’m just trying to sort out my SEO rankings).

Still here? Here’s a list of people who I like and that I occasionally steal things from:

One day I will manage to visualise a Tesseract - a cube in 4 dimensions. At this point, I will probably wink out of existence and disappear completely…so maybe not quite yet.

So…in other words: a being that could view objects in 4...

So…in other words: a being that could view objects in 4 dimensions would see ALL possible permutaitons of that object throughout time simultaneously.

In the same way that a flatlander can only perceive a 2 dimensional, perfectly flat slide through a three dimensional object - so too can a being that senses in 3 dimensions (like us) only perceive objects in a single temporal state.

This also means - I guess - that a creature which could sense and propel itself through 4 dimensional space would seem to us to appear and reappear at will within linear time.

What would I look like in 4 dimensional space? A waveform - a cloud of probability on the surface of spacetime? I suppose we’re all just wrinkles on the fabric of spacetime after all :)

The view from Opportunity

Interesting to see the average funding values are still pretty low, despite a few breakthrough projects like DoubleFine raising the bar. Having seen a couple of my mates not get their Instaprint project funded I’m still pretty close to the hard reality of most projects on Kickstarter, which never take off - especially if you can’t afford to promote them or don’t have a huge fanbase already.

Kind of makes it important to have that massive Facebook community ready to fund your stuff now doesn’t it ;)
